Our Harm Reduction and Stabilisation Team provides specialist support for adults in Inverclyde who are at increased risk of harm from alcohol or drug use, including those at risk of overdose or non-fatal overdose (NFOD).
Commissioned by Inverclyde Alcohol and Drug Partnership (ADP) and delivered in partnership with Inverclyde’s Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service (ADRS), the team supports individuals to reduce immediate risks, improve safety and wellbeing, and build greater stability in their lives. Our approach is compassionate, person-centred and non-judgemental, recognising that everyone’s circumstances and recovery journey are different.
The team provides practical harm reduction advice, overdose prevention education, naloxone provision, emotional stabilisation, and one-to-one support, while helping people access treatment, recovery services, and wider community support. Whether someone is ready to begin treatment or simply needs support to stay safe, we meet people where they are and work at a pace that feels right for them.
As part of this commissioned service, referrals are accepted directly from Inverclyde ADRS and the Scottish Ambulance Service. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept referrals from other organisations or self-referrals.
