SMART Recovery Meetings

At Moving On Inverclyde, we offer SMART Recovery meetings as part of our person-centred recovery support.

SMART (Self-Management and Recovery Training) is a science-based programme that helps individuals take control of their recovery by developing practical tools to manage addiction, build motivation, and lead a balanced life.

Our trained facilitators — many with lived experience — create a safe, supportive space where participants can:

SMART Recovery is a flexible, empowering alternative (or complement) to 12-step programmes. It’s open to anyone at any stage of recovery.

Twice weekly closed meetings take place for those accessing our service only.

We also hold a weekly Open Meeting every Friday where anyone can attend.

Fridays at 12.30pm
The Trust, 7½ John Wood Street, Port Glasgow

No need to book — just drop in.

Recovery is self-directed — but you don’t have to do it alone.

SMART Family & Friends

If someone you care about is struggling with alcohol or drug use, you don’t have to face it alone.

At Moving On Inverclyde, we host SMART Family & Friends meetings delivered by Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs (SFAD). These supportive sessions are designed specifically for loved ones — offering tools, understanding, and a safe, non-judgemental space.

Based on approaches like CBT and CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training), SMART Family & Friends can help you:

You’ll connect with others who understand what you’re going through — because they’ve been there too.
