Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy

Last updated – June 2025

1. Policy Statement

Moving On Inverclyde is committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of its operations and supply chains. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are dedicated to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, board members, contractors, and partners working with or on behalf of Moving On Inverclyde.

3. Our Commitment

We will:

  • Comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
  • Identify and assess potential risks of modern slavery within our operations and supply chains.
  • Raise awareness and provide training where appropriate.
Investigate any reports or concerns thoroughly and confidentially.
  • Take appropriate action if modern slavery is discovered.

4. Definitions

Modern slavery includes slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking.

Human trafficking is when individuals are moved or recruited using coercion, deception, or force for exploitation.

5. Due Diligence and Risk Management

To minimise risks, we:

  • Assess new suppliers for compliance with anti-slavery policies.
  • Include anti-slavery clauses in relevant contracts.
  • Work only with reputable agencies when recruiting staff or volunteers.
  • Encourage reporting of concerns related to modern slavery.

6. Reporting Concerns

Anyone who suspects modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our organisation or supply chain must report it immediately.

Reports can be made to:

  • A line manager
  • The CEO

Reports will be taken seriously and treated in confidence. We will act on all concerns promptly and appropriately.

7. Protection and Whistleblowing

Anyone who raises concerns in good faith will be protected from victimisation, discrimination, or disadvantage.

This policy is supported by our Whistleblowing Policy, which outlines how to report wrongdoing confidentially.

8. Training and Awareness

We will ensure that relevant staff and volunteers understand the signs of modern slavery and know how to respond if they suspect it.

9. Review and Monitoring

This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as needed to reflect legislative or organisational changes.
