Introduction
Moving On Inverclyde recognises that it has a responsibility to operate in an environmentally sustainable manner. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact wherever possible, promoting awareness among staff, volunteers, and partners, and supporting actions that contribute to a healthier planet.
Policy Objectives
- Minimise waste through reuse, recycling, and responsible purchasing
- Reduce energy consumption and increase energy efficiency in our operations
- Encourage sustainable travel choices among staff and volunteers
- Use resources such as paper, water, and office supplies efficiently and responsibly
- Promote environmental awareness and responsibility within our organisation and the wider community
- Comply with all relevant environmental legislation and regulations
Actions and Commitments
- Waste Management: Implement recycling schemes in all offices; reduce single-use plastics and encourage reusables
- Energy Efficiency: Switch off lights, computers, and electrical equipment when not in use; explore options for energy-efficient lighting and equipment upgrades
- Travel: Promote walking, cycling, public transport, and car-sharing where possible for work-related travel; support remote working to reduce travel emissions
- Purchasing: Prioritise environmentally friendly, ethical, and sustainable products and services
- Awareness: Provide guidance and training to staff and volunteers on environmental best practices
- Review: Monitor and review our environmental performance annually to identify improvements
Responsibilities
All staff, volunteers, and contractors of Moving On Inverclyde are expected to support this policy by integrating environmentally responsible practices into their day-to-day activities.
